We’ll send a yellow patrol van to you. If in metro Melbourne you’ll get an SMS to track its arrival. Please secure any dogs or animals before we arrive.
Our roadside assistance expert will ask you questions and run a diagnostic test to find out what’s wrong with your vehicle.
8 out of 10 issues are fixed on the spot. If we can’t, we’ll arrange to tow your vehicle to a repairer.

Any licenced driver using your nominated vehicles can access your Extra Care plan. You can add up to 2 vehicles to Extra Care (at an extra cost).
You can also add up to 6 drivers to your plan at no extra cost, making it as easy as possible to call for assistance – plus, they’ll get a complimentary RACV Membership.
Caravan and trailer assistance is included when towed by a nominated vehicle.

If you have a caravan or trailer, Total Care or Extra Care might suit you – they both include a level of assistance if the towing vehicle breaks down. Plus, you’ll receive assistance if you get locked out of your caravan or it gets a flat tyre.

Roadside assistance provides breakdown support for mechanical issues and problems like flat batteries, punctured tyres and lockouts.
Car insurance is a separate product to roadside assistance. All types of car insurance provide cover for damage you may unintentionally cause to people’s property or vehicles during a listed incident.
Depending on your level of cover, car insurance may also provide cover for damage caused to your vehicle during a listed event, such as collision, theft or attempted theft, vandalism, or fire.
If you’ve been an RACV Member for 5 years or more, you get a loyalty discount on an annual roadside assistance subscription as part of our Years of Membership benefits#.
