Yes, in order to provide you with the best home security system, our registered security consultants ask you detailed questions about the construction of your home. Then we tailor a home security package to suit your needs.

Alarm systems
Not always. Sensors are typically placed close to entry points and in areas intruders are most likely to enter. Our expert security consultants can advise on how many sensors you should have in your home.

RACV Home Security systems can be tailored to have doors and windows protected at night, when you’re at home, using reed switches.
Reed switches use a magnetic field and detect intrusion when the doors or windows are opened.

This may depend on the type of animal and environment, however we do have a pet-friendly detector that allows a small pet inside when the system is armed.

Monitoring
After your alarm has been activated, our highly-trained security monitoring consultants will respond by actioning your nominated emergency response plan.
They will either:
- call you or someone on your nominated contact list
- send a security patrol guard
- send emergency services (in some cases) - burglary, intrusion, medical or fire

No, we use the mobile network to communicate to the monitoring station. This is done by adding a device to your home security system. For more information, please call 13 27 56.

Yes, there are a couple of options.
We offer a system that includes panic buttons built into a code pad and the alarm remote.
We may also be able to upgrade your existing alarm to enable a panic/duress alarm, but this depends on the capability and service requirements of your existing alarm.

Our patrol service has the option of a licensed security guard attending your premise and investigating the cause of alarm activation, to limit the risk of you entering a potentially dangerous situation.
While investigating, they’ll look for signs of intrusion in readily accessible areas and provide help if required.
