General maintenance and non-urgent repairs aren’t included, like:
- dripping taps
- installing or changing light globes
- installing a new sink, toilet or shower head
- installing a new hot water system.
If the job requires a specialist trade (e.g. hydronic heating specialist) or a specialist part, a free quote will be provided for additional work.

How it works
If you need to get a tradie to your home fast, you can buy a single emergency callout for a one-off fee of $319.
If you already have an Emergency Home Assist annual subscription, you get unlimited callouts* for plumbing, electrical and locksmith emergencies all-year-round.
There are no after-hours/weekend surcharges and the callout fee includes up to one hour of labour, plus minor parts and materials.
If your home emergency requires specialised or more extensive repairs, we’ll give you expert advice on what should be done next and can provide a free quote for the fix.

RACV Emergency Home Assist (EHA) is only available for residential properties of homeowners or their managing agents, including houses, duplexes, flats, units and apartments – it’s not available for tenants to purchase. We encourage tenants to speak to their landlord or managing agent about the benefits of EHA.
If a landlord or managing agent has nominated the tenant’s property for service under the Terms and Conditions of RACV Emergency Home Assist, the tenant is able to request an emergency callout by calling 13 46 63.

Yes, anyone who owns a residential property, or is a managing agent, can sign up for Emergency Home Assist in our available areas. This includes investment properties and holiday homes.
Emergency Home Assist is currently available in metropolitan Melbourne and some regional centres.
