2025 Cadillac Lyriq: price, specs and release date
Storied American brand Cadillac will launch officially in Australia next year with the all-new Lyriq electric SUV. Here's what you need to know about Cadillac's highly-anticipated arrival and future plans.
After years of speculation and delayed plans, luxury heritage American car brand Cadillac will finally launch in Australia with the distinctive Cadillac Lyriq mid-size SUV, and an innovative take on luxury car ownership and Aftersales care that the brand says will differentiate it from competitors.
Named Lyriq to celebrate Cadillac’s place as the most named car brand in popular music, the American heritage brand's new electric SUV will spearhead its arrival in Australia, however will not be available through traditional dealerships like luxury competitors from Porsche, Maserati, BMW, Audi and Mercedes-Benz.
Instead all future Cadillac cars in Australia will be sold direct by the brand through exclusive retail stores initially located in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
Cadillac says the exclusive purchase journey and luxury prices of its cars will be backed up with a white glove aftersales experience, where servicing is managed through the same retail stores.

When does the Cadillac Lyriq go on sale in Australia?
The first customer deliveries of the Cadillac Lyriq will not begin in Australia until next year - however prospective Cadillac customers can place an expression of interest on the brand's website to be among the first to receive ordering information.
While deposits are not currently being taken for the Lyriq, Head of Marketing for Cadillac Australia and New Zealand Heath Walker said thousands of prospective buyers have already placed an expression of interest.
Walker was speaking at the reveal of the first right-hand drive production version of the Cadillac Lyriq, which debuted in Victoria with a showcase at the upmarket Chadstone Shopping Centre. Expect to see the Lyriq on show at key events around the state as Cadillac gets closer to its launch.

How much does the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq cost?
The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq electric mid-size SUV is priced competitively compared to rivals from BMW and Mercedes-Benz. The Cadillac LYRIQ Luxury starts at $117,000 plus on-road costs, while the LYRIQ Sport starts at $119,000 plus on-road costs.
Cadillac expects buyers of the Lyriq are likely to transfer from other prestige brands, so won’t baulk at the steep entry cost, instead appreciating the unique level of customer service and luxury that’s on offer.
What are the features and specs on the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq?
The specification of the Cadillac Lyriq is anticipated to live up to its pricing and brand positioning, with a large 33-inch colour screen with 9K resolution the highlight of the luxurious interior. A 19 speaker AKG sound system with active noise cancellation promises enhanced levels of audio and ride comfort, while Google Built In technology drives the infotainment suite. Drivers of the Lyriq can personalise the cabin through a 126 colour ambient lighting system.
Expect to also see large 21-inch wheels as seen on the display vehicle, as well as a practical hatchback boot. Stylistically, the sharp looking Lyriq is expected to standout in the crowded luxury SUV field including the BMW iX, 2024 Porsche Macan (which has also gone electric), and top-spec variants of the 2025 BMW X3.
On the display vehicle, cosseting seats front and rear are upholstered in leather with plenty of leg and headroom in the rear, while brushed metal trim and jewelled controls create quality touchpoints. A full length panoramic sunroof features on the show car.

What powers the Cadillac Lyriq and what is its driving range?
The Cadillac Lyriq will draw its power from parent company General Motors' 101kWh Ultium battery, which is paired with twin motors mounted on the front and rear axles. Power delivery through the all-wheel drive system is expected to be around 373kW and 600Nm, delivering strong performance.
Cadillac has not yet released range information for the Australian market but claims a driving range of 307 miles in the USA once full charged (estimated by General Motors), equivalent to around 495km.
The Cadillac Lyriq's Ultium battery system will be capable of charging at 190kW and should be able to add around 77km range in as little as 10 minutes on a Chargefox Ultra Rapid charger.
What’s next from Cadillac in Australia?
While Cadillac is evaluating the Australian market for the introduction of future vehicles, don’t expect to see the iconic V8-powered Cadillac Escalade SUV.
Cadillac will be an electric-only brand in Australia, which means we could also see the Optiq small SUV and upcoming three-row Vistiq large SUV on Australian roads in the future.
As Cadillac’s Australian arm seeks to establish the brand’s design credibility, we may also be fortunate enough to see some of Cadillac’s stylish concepts on display including the stunning Sollei electric convertible, an expression of Cadillac's heritage in modern form.
