happy newlywed

From the very beginning of our planning stage to the very end of our wedding day, RACV Cape Schanck Resort excelled in their service to make our wedding run smoothly as possible. Everyone was so accommodating to our needs and the planning stage was a piece of cake thanks to the event coordinator Nikita Benetti.

The food was absolutely delicious and we had a lot of comments from guests about how beautiful the venue is.

Your service was impeccable and we couldn’t be happier! Thank you RACV Cape Schanck Resort for helping us create such a beautiful and memorable day!

Our journey began in London, where James and I met. After years of dating, he proposed on the beaches of Cornwall. We wanted to combine his passion for golf and my love of the ocean in our wedding. When we visited Cape Schanck we fell in love with the backdrop, the tea tree garden, distance from Melbourne and proximity to the ocean. So much so that the new building wasn't even completed but we knew it would be magical. We eagerly signed up.

Our wedding was different from most. Because we were living in London, we organised almost the entire thing online with RACV. We were dreading this and thought it would be difficult but Nikita at RACV Cape Schanck handled everything with ease. Nothing was too big a task for her and the other staff at RACV Cape Schanck. We met a few days prior and everything was arranged, discussed and any anxieties dissipated.

We had a lot of guests flying internationally to celebrate with us, so we wanted to make a whole weekend of it. RACV supplied a list of suggested suppliers, ideas for wine tours and organised a golf competition for us. They put on a huge BBQ the night before where the Aussies and Brits could meet and get to know each other before the big day. It was superb.

The day of the wedding went perfectly. The weather was a beautiful 25 degrees. From the start Nikita was there guiding our suppliers: the florist, our celebrant, bands, as well as laying out place settings, etc. It was all handled. All that we had to worry about was enjoying the moment. The staff were incredible, from our driver to the lighthouse for photos, to the front-of-house, to our waiters for the evening - everyone couldn't do enough to help you. The food was delicious, the wine was flowing and we had the most wonderful wedding we could've imagined. We would highly recommend having your wedding at RACV Cape Schanck and we cannot wait to return for our anniversary.

Brett and I met through work and started dating in 2015. After a year of living together in Melbourne, we moved out to Gippsland and started a new life. It was on 04/01/2017 that Brett proposed to me at a beautiful lookout in Walkerville, Victoria.

Once we were engaged, we immediately started looking at venues. After only seeing one other venue, we booked in at Cape Schanck.

The biggest surprise was being able to have our wedding in the new venue! We were more than happy to have it in the older building but fortunately, the new venue was ready just in time. Whilst the weather on the day wasn't ideal, the Cape Schanck staff ensured that the day went perfectly. The venue was able to accommodate for all of our needs and the food was divine!

A wedding like ours didn’t just happen on the day.

There was over 12 months planning that went into it and much involved the people at RACV Cape Schanck. From booking the venue to menu tasting and just working with us to be able to include our own special touches.

The ceremony took place in the gardens and we even had a back-up plan in case of bad weather. Then we had so many backdrops to choose from for our wedding photos.

So much happened behind the scenes that we can’t praise the staff and management of the Cape Schanck Resort enough. Nearly 12 months down the track and we still have friends and family telling us what a wonderful day they experienced.
