Watch history come to life

An award-winning living museum set on a former gold mining site, Sovereign Hill recreates the hustle and bustle of the 1850s Gold Rush in Australia. There’s no shortage of things to do and see, you can pan for real gold in the diggings, watch $150,000 of molten gold being poured into a bullion bar and journey underground on a gold mine tour. Walking amongst colourful costumed characters and horse-drawn carriages, you can also visit the town’s theatre, schools, bakery, factories and shops for a truly immersive and memorable experience.
