How to get fitter – no equipment required
RACV Club fitness expert Nate Wells shares key exercises to help you get fitter
The benefits of exercise cannot be underestimated. From reduced risk of heart disease to improved memory and cognition, the reasons to get moving are endless.
But sometimes finding adequate workout time can be a challenge as we battle working from home, schooling children from home, and the temporary closure of gyms, swimming pools and other fitness facilities ingrained in our typical routines.
So, while it’s normal to lose motivation for exercise and sport over prolonged periods of lockdown, thankfully there’s a way to keep fit that requires just a few minutes of daily dedication.
Our resident RACV Club fitness expert Nate Wells shares some key exercises and a specially-designed training circuit video.
Best of all, these exercises require no fancy gym equipment, and can be done anytime and anywhere, whether you live in a one bedroom apartment or a family home cluttered with toys and computer desks.
Try these between Zoom meetings, Netflix episodes, or during your well-earned lunch break - Nate’s fitness circuit will get your heart rate up and endorphins pumping, helping you feel better in no time.
And for those with more time to spare, pop on your best activewear, listen to your favourite album, and carry out the circuit in conjunction with other exercises involving kettlebells, dumbbells, or even running on the spot.
