In 2021, renewable energy and storage fund CEP.Energy contracted RACV Solar to install solar and storage at Narellan Town Centre in Sydney, Australia’s largest privately-owned shopping centre.

The project included 2.6 MW of solar and a 4MW/10 MWh battery system. That’s more than 5000 solar panels covering 12,577 square metres and equivalent to 740 Tesla home batteries, making it the largest solar and battery system on a retail premises in the country.

This was a huge project, installed in a challenging environment across many different electrical connection points. It included an embedded network to supply solar energy back to the shopping centre tenants. The project also enables market participation via the advanced battery system to provide an additional revenue stream while supporting the grid.

RACV Solar was engaged to supply, install, operate and maintain the system for CEP. Our team engineered, planned and executed the project ensuring there was no disruption to business, prioritising rigorous health and safety procedures at the site and keeping the shopping centre’s tenants front of mind throughout the process.

“RACV Solar's effective project and contractor management demonstrates a best-in-class approach to WHS with the site being a fully functioning shopping centre throughout the entire installation. Their delivery team’s attention to detail and ability to deliver the project on time and budget has been outstanding.”
